Wassup dudes!

I'll start with the bad news first and, believe me, it is bad news. As you may already know (for those that actually read my fucking journals) I was planning to release my first two 'Bogies of War' books on the 10th of November, the same day as the United State's Marine Corp birthday. Well, that time has come and gone, I'm afraid. Unfortunately, due to lack of... a lot of things, I won't be releasing the first two books on the desired release date. Sorry to all those that I've let down. Here's my excuse.

Basically, I haven't been myself. My brain just wasn't functioning like it should. Lately, I haven't been feeling the writing bug. I hardly got much done, on some days, nothing at all. I got to the point where I said to myself "Why should I bother writing? I'm no good. I should quit." But there were times where I wanted to write but I couldn't. Simple writers block or sheer boredom got the better of me and, well, you know how it goes. I needed something to get me out of my slump. Something to break the hold of my depressed state. Thankfully 'CoD: MW2' was just the antidepressant I needed. I needed to feel that adrenaline again and I needed to feel inspired. Soooooo what does that mean for my writing? Well, now I feel like I can write like fucking Stephen King or Michael Crichton. Whatever. I just feel like writing again... just not right now.

Now, as for my current 'BoW' series, I've made great progress in terms of "adding meat to the bone", plot development and the overall scope of the series. I would say that I've done more in the past week then I've done in the past year. And that's saying a lot, isn't it? But there is still a lot to be done. A lot to be re-written and re-edited. I want my stuff to be perfect and not feel rushed. At the moment, I already have one completed story under my belt and another looking to be done as well. YAY! But that still leaves another seven to be completed. But I'm just going to go at it at my own pace. Fuck the release date! I'm just going to go back to my original plan; releasing stuff whenever I please and when you least expect it. It adds to the mystique.

I'm still hoping for a November release for my first two books though. Perhaps by the end of November would be ideal. For the next books in the series, "Stabbed in the Heart of the Reich" and "Blood and Fire from Down Under", I might get started on them afterwards. If I get them done, I could release them as early as Christmas. And then the final two could be released in January next year. These aren't definite plans, this is just a possible time for the future. Who knows what will happen? If all goes to plan, I can finally move onto something else. Like your average run-of-the-mill Thomas book or something completely different. Maybe...

And now for something completely the same. Besides working on Thomas related fanfic, I have other works in my vast collection. These are works that I produced during my tenure in my writing course. Most of them are just writing exercises while some are full-blown projects like novels and non-fiction works. I've been wondering if I should release these stories on dA. Maybe I should release them to the public. I mean, what purpose do my works serve if no-one will ever get to read them? What do you think?

"Bogies of War 'Rescue Engine' Trailer"

James was all alone in the battered shed. His only company was the spiders and the resident field mice. The black engine was starting to lose hope. He thought the worst. Perhaps the bombs had claimed his crew and now he was an "orphan". James wondered if he would ever get out until one day, he got his answer. James was resting his eyes when suddenly there came a rattling, as of someone not-so-gently rapping, rapping at the old shed door. James held his breath as the shed door rattled and creaked. Someone was trying to pick the rusty locks. Then, all of a sudden, the shed doors flung open. "Good God, it’s the Germans!" cried James. "Oh please don’t scrap me!"
"We’re not the Germans, my friend," said a familiar voice. "It’s only us." And who should pop into James’ field of vision but the comforting visage of his driver.
"Oh, thank the Lord,” James sighed with relief. "What took you so long?"
"Terribly sorry for taking so long, but we couldn’t find anyone with any welding equipment," the driver explained. "We managed to find our way to a signalbox and told of our harrowing ordeal. We then hitched a ride back to London where we met up with the manager and told him what had happened."
"Bet he was angry when you told him," said James.
"He was," laughed the driver. "But not as angry at the Germans for; what was it that he said, for ‘tearing one of Our Majesty’s engines out of service’. But anyway, we had to spend a week waiting for the right equipment to arrive. The war effort’s been tough on us and all that. When the package arrived, we hitched a ride on a friendly shunter back here to get you patched up and ready for action."
"You don’t mean?" James gulped.
"Yep," his driver nodded. "Once we’re done, you’re back to the army, James."
"Shit," snorted James.
